Revision & Support

At KS4, we understand that the workload can feel overwhelming at times, but there is plenty of support available:

Champions' Hour: Runs every night after Period 7 for Year 11 students in the Learning Café. It is an opportunity to complete homework, revision tasks or use the IT facilities. Staff are on hand to support and motivate students.

Tutors, Teachers & Pastoral team:
Always feel free to approach your tutors or subject teachers for help. If you’re struggling with anything, don’t wait—reach out early. If you need more pastoral support, we have a fantastic and dedicated Pastoral team to help with anything.

Revision for our students is compulsory at Key Stage 4 and is set mainly on platforms such as Sparx Maths, Seneca for English and Sparx Science. Option subjects at Year 11 set revision using different methods. Year 10 students need only complete English, Maths and Science homework.

Assessment: Coursework and Revision

Plan your revision: It’s important to stay organised and manage your time well. Many students find it helpful to create a revision timetable early in Year 10, which can be adjusted as needed throughout the course. During Period 0, throughout the Year, Year 11 students practice using college agreed revision strategies such as; Cornell notes, Flashcards and Past Papers which are all evidence backed, to help our students be prepared for assessments.
