STEM Centrifuge Day

On Tuesday 29th November Year 9 students were lucky enough to be visited by BD Medical Solution to design and create their own centrifuge.

BD Medical Solution are a local company who make blood collection products which are used in a centrifuge. They offer apprenticeships and we had 14 on hand to work with the teams.

During the day, students made the centrifuge following directions, but using their own designs (some of which were very interesting)! There were lots of team discussion, mechanical discussion, creativity, and budgeting going on. Lots of things to get the students engaged with STEM subjects.
