Year 11, 12 and 13 students visited Livewire on Thursday, March 16, to perform at an event prepared, organised and supervised by Year 13 students Mia and Ellisha. Tyler, Romana, Kai, Harry, Chloe, Cerys and Archie opened the night with, set one performances including songs, 'Power of Love' by Gabrielle Aplin, 'Changes' by David Bowie, 'Smells Like Teen Spirit' by Nirvana, 'Slide Away' by Oasis and 'The Fall' by Lovejoy.
After a brief break, Kiera began set two, with two original songs, which were an enormous success. This was followed by two other hit songs, 'Who's Loving You' by Jackson 5 and 'Respect' by Aretha Franklin. Kiera was then joined by Lexi for the performance of 'River Deep, Mountain High'. Following that, Lexi and Megan performed songs such as 'Moonage Daydream' by David Bowie and 'Fade into You' by Mazzy Star. They concluded their performance with an original song, which was well-received by many audience members. A four-song set ended the whole night, performed by Blake, Tallulah and Ashleigh, including Bruno Mars' 'Runaway Baby' and Adele's 'Rolling in the Deep'.
With the evening being a huge success, we would like to thank Mr Cleverley, Mr Walker and Mr Truscott for playing amazing backing for the students, as well as the Year 13 students for planning and organising a truly outstanding event.
Thank you also, to Mrs Bevan and Miss Warring for attending the performance and supporting our event. A special thank you to Mr Kirk, who drove the bus, took photos and recorded the performance. Our last thank you is to Andy Rance, the owner of Livewire, for allowing us to hold our event at his venue.
Congratulations to all performers and thank you to all of those who attended, supported and helped with the event.
