Engineering Her Future

This term we took 60 Year 9 and 10 girls to Engineering Her Future, an event designed to help students explore exciting career opportunities for women in engineering. The girls were given a tour of the Tamar Bridge and met Sam Jackman Co-Founder of We Wear Boost, a company that designs Breast Forms for women.

They then had the opportunity to meet with local employers to discuss how girls can access engineering and importantly how to break down some of the barriers that women face in engineering. Some girls were amazed to know that they too could become an apprentice at Babcock! It was a great event and one we hope to expand on.
