Doctors orders for Sixth Form

On December 7th, Mrs Skelton's class were lucky enough to have a visit from an air ambulance doctor, Ben Odbert. He gave them a talk on the cardiovascular system and the effects, both positive and negative, that exercise can have on them. He discussed the heart and its functions, the blood vessels and their functions and the changes that happen to both over time with exercise. The session culminated in Liam having an ultrasound of his arm, his neck, his stomach and his heart. It was a very engaging session and the students found it extremely helpful to hear the unit content from a different perspective.
