Welcome to Key Stage 3 at Sir John Hunt Community Sports College and the start of the secondary learning experience. Our vision is for every student to realise their potential and, to make that happen, we insist on high expectations of attendance and punctuality, conduct and attitude to learning.
We encourage our students to challenge themselves, to develop new skills and knowledge and to become confident, independent learners. We also encourage them to make the most of the many opportunities on offer; we offer a wide range of extra-curricular clubs and activities and we also offer the Key Stage 3 Learning Club after school every day, where students can be supported to complete homework.
Key Stage 3 is the first stage of a seven year journey and, central to everything we do, is the belief that every student has potential and we look forward to working with parents and carers to unlock the potential of every young person at Sir John Hunt.
The Key Stage 3 Learning Club runs Monday to Friday after school from 3.05pm to 4.00pm every week in the Learning Resources Centre.
There are light refreshments provided while students receive help with homework, revision, or anything they are working on in lessons.
Pupils are given loyalty cards to collect stamps each time they complete a piece of work, which generate praise points and become raffle tickets once completed and handed in.
Furthermore, a weekly prize is awarded for the Learning Club ‘Worker of the Week’. Could it be you next week?
We look forward to seeing you there!
