Our Sixth Form students recently enjoyed an exciting and enriching visit to Plymouth University, designed to offer a taste of studying within the creative industries and to get a feel for what studying at a city university experience is like. After a warm welcome and registration, students rotated through three specialist workshops in Creative Media, Photography, and Illustration. Each session provided hands-on activities and insight into the skills, techniques, and creative thinking involved in these dynamic subjects, helping students to explore possible future academic and career paths.
Following lunch, students continued their practical sessions before rounding off the day with a campus tour and a visit to the university’s Degree Show. This provided an excellent opportunity to see current students’ work and the standard of creativity and professionalism expected at university level. The experience was inspiring, informative, and left students with a deeper understanding of the opportunities available in the creative arts as well as food for thought over their choices for Post-18 education.
