Sir John Hunt recently played host to a vibrant and inspiring Lead Learners Day, welcoming approximately 300 enthusiastic Year 5 pupils and primary school teachers from five local primary schools.
The event was a resounding success, showcasing the best of what our College community has to offer. From the moment the visiting pupils arrived, they were immersed in a day full of creativity, discovery, and fun. A huge credit goes to our incredible Year 10 Lead Learners and Sports Leaders, who were without doubt the stars of the show. Their leadership, confidence, and kindness set the tone for the day and made a lasting impression on our young guests.
Throughout the day, students took part in a dynamic programme of sessions led by our dedicated staff. From experiments in Science, workshops in Music, and high-energy team building activities in PE, to creative challenges in Art and interactive learning in IT, there was something for everyone! The sessions not only highlighted the talents of our teaching team but also gave the visiting pupils a real taste of secondary school life at Sir John Hunt Community Sports College.
Sir John Hunt’s Lead Learners Day has once again proven to be a brilliant example of how collaborative learning and student leadership can create memorable and meaningful experiences for all involved. We look forward to welcoming even more Year 5 pupils in the coming academic year for our taster visits in the Autumn and Winter terms!
