On Friday 15th November, talented music students from Years 8 to 12 took to the stage in the performance hall, to raise funds for Children In Need and to quite simply, have fun!
Cerys Hanna from Year 8 revisited her excellent cover of Castle On The Hill (following her successful rendition during Enrichment Week to 35k Plymouth Live viewers). Lexi and Monty from Year 9 go from strength to strength with the Alt-Punk duo, covering songs from Radiohead to Declan McKenna. Solo songs from Gabby Lloyd and Kiera added further kudos to Year 9’s talent, as well as a trio made up of Tallullah Buckeridge, Blake White and Alanis Potter.
Year 11 band featuring Charlie Buckeridge, Megan Smith and Daisy Bone blasted through Blow by Ed Sheeran and The Killers’ Mr Brightside. (This was followed by a beautiful rendition of Skyfall)
Year 12 band, Entropy, featuring McKenzie Colwill (in spirit), Ellie Sibley, Emma Pertiller, Kaitlyn Francis and Dora Szucs entertained the crowd with four songs, with different vibes and of different genres: Sure Thing by Miguel, Mrs Potato Head by Melanie Martinez, Animal by Sir Chloe and Youngblood by 5SOS. Youngblood was definitely a crowd pleaser, the audience clearly enjoyed the strong dynamics and the familiarity of the last song.
Thank you all for coming to the talent show, we raised £63 for Children In Need. Furthermore, we are all really grateful for all the staff that stayed behind because of the talent show, giving up their own time in order for us to be able to go through with the event.
