Despite the waves of Coronavirus lockdowns, it would be remise of us not to acknowledge the achievements of our students last academic year. Whilst we had hoped to have a more formal celebration of their success, given the restrictions placed upon us this year, this has not been possible.
A special mention must go to the following 3 students for winning the Principal’s Awards:
Romana Bennett receives the award at KS3 for her diligence and commitment to school and community life. She is a regular attender at our Learning Café, a committed member of our sailing programme and a strong advocate for improving students’ mental health through her work with the UK Youth Parliament.
Ocean Phillips receives the KS4 award for being an outstanding College role model. She was an incredible prefect and highly competent sportsperson representing the College at both Netball and Rounders. She was also a skilled piano player and a committed volunteer which resulted in her successfully showing her all round ability by completing both her Bronze and Silver Duke of Edinburgh’s Award. Ocean is now studying Sociology, English and Maths A Level at Sixth Form.
Holly Bone receives the award at KS5 for her strong work ethic and commitment to Sixth form life. Holly's mature and calm manner enabled her to work comfortably and effectively with peers, staff and younger students. Holly frequently supported as a student ambassador at key events, including Open Evenings and community events, easily engaging with local schools, children and parents. Holly was subsequently successful in her application to study Speech and Language Therapy at Plymouth Marjon University, something that we are immensely proud of and we look forward to hearing of her achievements in the coming years.
I would like to extend my congratulations to the following students for winning these highly prestigious academic awards:
Also to the students below for being awarded the following sports awards:
Well Done everyone, we are incredibly proud of you.
