Students will be taught the skills and knowledge necessary to research a theme or problem, produce a design proposal, plan how to make it, manufacture the product, and finally test and evaluate it.
Design and Technology combines the design process with the knowledge and skills of the traditional practical subjects of textiles, wood and metal work.
It also supports and consolidates the students' knowledge of literacy, numeracy and ICT, through Design and Technology projects.
At Key Stage 3 all students will study Resistant Materials and textiles technology. They will acquire a wide range of skills and work in variety of media, both 2 Dimensional and 3 Dimensional.
